In 1986, Accord Architecture was created as a separate design corporation owned by Henkel Construction and comprised of architects and interior designers in Mason City, Iowa. Now an award-winning firm in two Iowa locations, Accord is thriving. This successful longevity is the direct result of talented employees that focus on the delivery of quality designs and the customer’s experience.

In 1999, Accord and Henkel opened a central Iowa office in Aspen Business Park at the south side of Ames. Growth of that office has been steady and strategic to capitalize on a central Iowa market of customers. In 2017, Accord and Henkel purchased and renovated an existing building in Ames at 2500 Ford Street. That move has proven beneficial; it has allowed expansion for both companies.

We believe our diversity of experience designing many different building types improves the results of every project. Our senior leadership is involved from start to finish on nearly all projects, which we believe sets us apart from many firms.
